From 8–10 October 2026, health workers, students, activists, unions and organisations from different countries will come together in Rotterdam for IMA OUT!, three days of discussion, organising and collective action for Palestine. Taking place alongside the World Medical Association (WMA) General Assembly, the mobilisation will focus on medical neutrality, the protection of healthcare workers, health justice and demands for accountability within the international medical profession.

The programme begins on Thursday 8 October with a public fringe meeting at Theater Rotterdam. From 19:00 to 21:30, health workers and activists will hear directly from people who have witnessed the destruction of healthcare in Palestine and from those organising internationally for Palestinian liberation and health justice. Speakers include Mvuyisi Mzukwa, Hanne Bosselaers, Marcelia Theron, Derek Summerfield, Ang Swee Chai and Aziz Rhali, representing a range of medical and global health organisations and movements.

On Friday 9 October, the Global Health Workers Assembly for Palestine will create a space for international coordination and practical strategising. Hosted at Pauluskerk from 13:30 to 18:00, the assembly will bring together campaigns working on academic and medical boycotts, ethical procurement and corporate accountability, as well as the role of medical associations and the Israeli Medical Association (IMA). Participants will work towards concrete forms of coordinated action, with hybrid participation available for those unable to attend in person.

On Saturday 10 October, discussion will move into collective action on the streets of Rotterdam. The International Health Workers’ Protest will bring together health workers, students, unions, medical organisations and Palestine solidarity movements during the WMA General Assembly. Participants will call for protection and justice for Palestinian healthcare workers, the defence of medical neutrality, accountability for attacks on healthcare, and the suspension of the Israeli Medical Association from the WMA.

Across these three days, IMA OUT! aims to connect international health workers’ organising with broader movements for Palestinian rights and health justice. The organisers welcome health workers, students, activists and organisations from around the world to join the programme, strengthen international coordination and stand together for the protection of healthcare workers, medical ethics and the right to health.
